I am responsible for managing the raw materials (both critical and non-critical) used in our OLED and Photochromic processes. My various responsibilities include:—Work closely with supply chain and production coordinators to ensure materials are received and approved in time for production. This involves coordinating samples with various lab technicians to meet faster sample turnaround times in order to keep production on track. —Receiving materials into SAP. Moving them through QM as needed. —Sampling each material for the appropriate testing.—Entering analytical data and reviewing against material specifications. —Approving materials that meet specification.—Reporting out results that do not meet specification. —Setting up meetings to discuss path-forward if materials are out of specification.—Reviewing material COA’s from suppliers. Along with the raw materials I’m also now responsible for the QC of our finished Photochromic dyes. —Review all analytical from submitted samples.—Approve batches that meet specification. —Communicate out of spec results to the appropriate individuals, discuss path-forward.

I was a working supervisor leading a small crew in a chemical manufacturing plant. We manufactured OLED and Photochromic dyes and also produced some speciality glass coatings. As the shift supervisor I was in charge of ensuring the production schedule stayed on track, moving jobs and people around as needed. I was also the initial point of contact for the operators in troubleshooting problems with our processes.
