This resulted in Tellabs growing from 200 people to over 600 people. On completion of the project I returned to Test engineering and progressed through to principal and staff engineering levels. During 2000 I became the Manufacturing manager for the plant with responsibility for production and in late 2000 became the Operations Manager with responsibility for over 400 people across production, maintenance, engineering and supply chain operating 7 days a week. -

Over the 4 year period I was responsible for multiple new product introductions from Apple USA. I was selected as the Cork site representative on a global software development team that developed a new test platform that was deployed across the 5 global Apple manufacturing plants. This required multiple extended trips to Apple Cupertino and then on completion of the platform, multiple trips to support deployment at the sites. -
Test EngineerAmdahl Corporation Jul 1989 - Mar 1992Amdahl manufactures computer mainframes for use by banks, insurance companies etc and operated a 600 person plant in Ireland. Responsibilities included the testing of the mainframes manufactured in the plant which typically took 6 weeks. During this testing process and faults found were debugged and repaired. I also completed by Coop rotation from DCU in Amdahl from April to September 1988 in the manufacturing engineering department.
