State Rep. Michael J. Ramone was elected to the House of Representatives’ 21st District seat in 2008.Mike graduated from St. Marks High School in 1979. He attended the University of Delaware from 1979 through 1982, when haunted by the entrepreneurial itch he opened his first business, Ramone’s Flower Shoppes. Since 1982, Michael, a true “serial entrepreneur,” has been the founder of new businesses, a savior to troubled businesses, and he continues to consult and assist others in the set up and operation of new small businesses in Delaware. Mike supports the Boy Scouts of America; the Special Olympics; Yes U Can USA; various fire and police companies; colleges and universities; and the Police Athletic Leagues (among others) by regularly donating the use of his health club and aquatic facilities for training programs and recreational uses.Mike serves on the Board of Trustees of Yes U Can USA and the Make-a-Splash Foundations, Delaware. He served as treasurer for Delaware Chemo-Care Foundation and is past President of the Pike Creek/Hockessin Rotary. He is an active member of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, and of the Delaware PTA. As a state legislator, Mike sits on many Committees including the House Capital Infrastructure; House Economic Development/Banking /Insurance/Commerce; House Gaming & Pari-mutuels; House Housing & Community Affairs; House Revenue & Finance; House Telecommunication, Internet & Technology; and the House Veterans Affairs. He serves the people of our State by providing counsel on the Kids Caucus, the Small Business Caucus, and the Family Law Commission. Mike is honored to serve on several of the Governor’s Councils, including the Governor’s Mentoring Council for Children and Youth and the Governor’s Governor’s Councils, including the Governor’s Mentoring Council for Children and Youth and the Governor's Council on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.
