Completed Naval Aviation Flight Training and was assigned to a F/A-18D Hornet Squadron in San Diego, CA. Held leadership roles in Logistics and Maintenance. Took pride in mentoring, training, and counseling 140 marines. Supervised mechanics that were experts in troubleshooting and fixing (12) F/A-18D aircraft ($480 million assets). Created a comprehensive maintenance training plan and achieved unparalleled success on two major inspections during annual audits. Assisted with managing incoming and outgoing personnel to ensure each maintenance work center was properly staffed prior to combat operations.Completed three overseas deployments: two in Asia and one in the Middle East. Planned complex missions and flew sorties in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Awarded the Air Medal (numeral 3) with combat “V” for actions, while flying the F/A-18D Hornet. Completed an intense 10-week syllabus to become a Tactics Instructor, certified to train pilots in air combat maneuvering. Worked with the latest advancements in satellite guided weapons, air-to-air missiles, aviation software, navigation equipment, communication and radar systems.From 2004-2007, was assigned to the University of Texas in Austin. Mentored and managed the career and academic progress of over 100 Midshipmen as the Operations Officer for the Naval ROTC unit. Developed university-level coursework and taught 2 military history classes in the College of Liberal Arts. Served as a Company Commander at Mountain Warfare School (Bridgeport, CA) in the summer of 2005. Served as a Platoon Commander at Officer Candidate School (Quantico, VA) in the summer of 2006.
