The team is responsible for all on-prem and cloud infrastructure from design through implementation through support across five on-prem global datacenters, AWS and Azure cloud. We support 24X7 support services for all applications, including problem management, incident management along with DevOps / Application Analyst responsibilities. For test centers, we support the full life cycle of architecture, implementation, software distribution and technical escalations/support for over 800 test centers globally along with another 1,000 temporary/burst sites. I manage our overall technology operations expense, our labor allocation by region and technology capital budgets for the global engineering and operations teams.

Promoted to managing the security team responsible for all infrastructure security in Prometric’s enterprise architecture. Developed new procedures to reduce time to delivery for firewall changes, new IP address allocation and overall operations of our Patch Management Council. Also, took on the responsibility of mentoring upcoming manager of security. During this time, provided development plan and process for mentoring team lead into a strong manager for all technical security. Managed entire engineering team responsible for all server and storage operations in each of our environments in the US which constituted over 1500 servers and 50 TB of storage. Held leadership positions as Infrastructure Architect, Business Continuity Team Lead, and a member of our parent company’s High Performance Team.  Managed conversion of Exchange environment from parent company to isolated operating company. Converted over 2500 mailboxes from an integrated domain into a dedicated domain and Exchange environment that was delivered on schedule and under budget. Managed the introduction of virtualization into our environment. This included all steps between providing proof of concept to deploying first systems in a highly scalable design. Provided capacity analysis to promote the expansion of virtual environment to reduce time to deliver and acquisition costs. Planned, budgeted and managed data center move to new facility in Baltimore. Helped design power layout, network layout and physical layout of new data center. Managed the team to implement the build of the data center as well as the conversion of systems to the new data center.

Managed the global network for Prometric. This included all routers and switches supporting our global data center in the US, as well as all remote office networking. This included offices throughout Europe and APAC. The team also managed the global test center network that connects back to Baltimore for communications. This included over 300 domestic sites and 300 global sites. Each site maintained either an ISDN/Dial connectivity or IP VPN connection.  Managed the conversion from X.25 and ISDN to IP VPN connectivity for all remote test centers. This included designing, budgeting, planning, and final implementation on a global scale. Redesigned older routed environment into new switched environment to allow for higher bandwidth requirements as well as expansion of our data center capabilities.  Deployed many network management solutions including HP Network Node Manager, VitalSuite, Sniffer tools, and Solar Winds.

Senior Network Engineering consultant for staff augmentation positions throughout the DC metro area. Served in many roles with clients from new designs, large scale build outs, to maintenance and Y2K fixes. Served as primary engineer for opening of Baltimore office for expansion out of the DC metro area. Focused on large scale Cisco designs for LAN and WAN designs.  Covered all technologies from large routing designs, detailed layer 2 designs, through dial technologies such as ISDN and X.25.  Managed the entire network stack from implementation of physical lines through layer 3-4 for routing.  Worked with BGP and the integration of interior protocols into BGP. Systems Engineer engaged with government segment in order to augment staff for any mid level server implementations. Focused on Microsoft deployments for server infrastructure that included primary and back up domain controllers, DNS servers, print and file servers, as well as connectivity from desktop systems. Deployed networking environment and system environment simultaneously for many clients.
