As the Director of Engineering I am responsible for maintaining close to a 100% up-time on multi-petabyte environments consisting of hundreds of Greenplum/Postgres, Oracle and MySQL databases. This position requires managing resources, working closely with business and product management as well as the software development teams. This includes writing project specification, evaluating and recommending storage technologies and disaster recovery technologies, creating schedules, and ensuring those schedules get completed on time for the delivery of internet based advertising on both desktop and mobile devices. This position also required implementing compliance to privacy acts such as GDPR as well as performing routine SOX compliance audits.

As a senior software engineer and project manager, I am responsible for creating system for use in the D-Cinema, E-Cinema, and traditional 35mm cinema marketplaces. This includes active participation in the SMPTE DC28 standards organization for D-Cinema. This position involves writing specification, creating schedules, and coding applications for sound and picture acquisition, distribution, and reproduction. The products created here are currently deployed in over 38,000 locations world wide.

My responsibilities included: Architecting and delivering solutions for the acquisition, storage, and play out of high definition digital video for use in post-production and Digital Cinema applications. This also required integrating and debugging major system components, participation in code reviews, mentoring intermediate and junior developers, and working with customers.

I joined Kodak when it acquired Applied Network Solutions, Inc. in 1997. My responsibilities included: writing system functional specifications, system design & integration, software design & development and program management, for the commercialization of digital photographic integrated solutions. As a team member of Kodak’s Digital Technology Platform Center, I participated in the development and implementation of numerous integrated solutions that are currently in commercial use at photographic portrait studios, theme parks, shopping malls, corporate events, and other entertainment destinations throughout the world.

I began my career while still in Junior High School as an apprentice member of the ANSI team, assembling and configuring computer workstations & network systems. As my knowledge base evolved, I focused my efforts on the design and development of digital imaging related solutions. I developed my first commercially implemented digital software application in 1990 while in High School. While continuing to work at ANSI, I attended a local college gaining the majority of credits necessary to obtain degrees in photography and computer science. During my time at ANSI, I participated in numerous pioneering initiatives utilizing digital photographic products for commercial use. These initiatives helped to establish ANSI as one of the world’s leading innovators in the development of digital photographic integrated solutions.
