I am passionate about business, community, God, family, and building/creating with my hands. I love the work I do at Paulson's, bringing interior finish dreams to reality! What I love most, though, is all of the people I work with everyday; from my team to all our wonderful reps, our incredibly hard-working subs, and our builders and their teams. I am grateful for them all!On my first job site, I was in a baby carrier my father wore as "we" discussed the engineering needs for a multi-story project he was a fasteners engineer on. Not so long later, I witnessed him purchase and move 3 homes onto new home sites. He also taught me how to replace a roof when I was 7 years old. That's right, tool bags and all and that framing hammer hung down to my ankles! Different from the normal childhood experience, I worked my weekends helping to provide all of the maintenance and repairs for my grandfather's 115 rental properties. Don't feel bad for me, I LOVED EVERY MINUTE! The smell of fresh drywall mud, new carpet, off-gassing from the pressure sensitive adhesive for the thousands of feet of VCT we laid together, are all the warm fuzzy's of my childhood. Well, that and popcorn because going to the movies is the best way to let paint dry!I started my first business when I was 8 years old, collecting recycling from homes within a bike ride of mine. I would store up cans and bottles and then on an off weekend from working with Dad, I would make as many 4 mile trips as it took to get my recycling turned in. It was very lucrative, especially considering 7-Eleven still had the $0.05 candy bins and all my overhead was paid by Mom and Dad! Now, it's really no surprise to me that I'm still doing the same things: enjoying working with my hands, restoring that which is old or broken, creating new things, and making sure there's good people around me. I'm loving life and striving for more every step of the way, grateful for God's favor on me all these years and eager for more adventure!
