I retired from the cycle business in 2022. The business continues. At Riley's Cycles I took over a declining one man business and turned it round to grow turnover year on year and employ staff. I was hands on mechanic, salesman and director which uses many of my previous skills and new skills such as marketing and sales. I was proud that the business grew without incurring debt and was a going concern so cycling continued to be supported in Sherborne.At Action on Addiction I provided H&S support and advice to the Facilities and Medical teams to achieve the CHKS standard for medical establishments, assisted the Facilities Manager and developed a project to use the vegetable garden as a therapeutic facility. Previously as Environment, Health and Safety Business Partner within a large multi-national defence and security organisation. I was responsible for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management systems, audit programme, CSR targets, compliance. I significantly improved sustainability performance, introduced Occupational Health and Safety improvements and managed HS&E aspects for transitions due to site closures and relocation. Previously I have years of training and simulation, software development, System Engineering, ISO 9001 auditor, Electrical Engineering, Merchant and Royal Navy engineering experienceGoals: To contribute to projects with benefits for society and the environment. I am Interested in opportunities in marine projects such as offshore wind farms. I would like to use my engineering experience with my more recent skills in positions such as Sustainability advisor, Design for the Environment, Product Safety or auditing management systems for engineering or marine clients.
