Through the efforts of our Marion Public Library, business and industry, our local schools, United Way of Marion County, government, social service agencies and many key stakeholders, our community has created a new collaborative project dedicated to encourage parents and other significant adults to read to a child at least 20 minutes each and everyday from birth through elementary school. This new community initiative is called, “Let’s Read 20”VISION: “LET’S READ 20 envisions, “Raising readers who achieve and succeed for a lifetime!” *Becoming successful, achieving Life-long Learners! MISSION: “LET’S READ 20 is dedicated to building a community of readers by encouraging everyone to read to a child at least 20 minutes a day from birth through elementary school.”This collaborative is made up of several key community stakeholders with United Way serving as the administrative and fiscal agent. The Steering Committee consists of representatives from all five of our local public school districts, TRECA ITC-Information Technology Center for all districts, Marion Public Library and impacted community agencies throughout Marion County. GOALS:GOAL 1: TO PROMOTE EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACYGOAL 2: TO CREATE MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPSGOAL: 3. DRIVE “LET’S READ 20” MESSAGE-READING WITH ALL CHILDREN AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A DAY

Responsible for development, administration and supervising of a new Customer Service Dept. at an Information Technology center. Self and supervised staff acquire and process New Leads & business opportunities; conduct program development and cost benefit analysis; market share research; project management and contract administration and monitoring functions + supervise TRECA Warehouse and all shipping & receiving / inventory control functionality. Also oversee Marketing Dept. operations and staff and business retention activities.

Oversight for State Department functions and responsibilities for all 88 county Children service agencies in Ohio and their operations with rule making/writing and funding responsibilities. Liaison with other State Dept.'s , advocacy groups and Ohio legislature and budget process.

Full responsibility for total operations of a local, county governmental agency and it's Board and staff serving county's abused & neglected children and their families-Investigations; protective supervision; placement-foster care & adoption services; prevention programming and court/governmental liaison activities + responsible for passing tax levy campaigns to fully fund operations over 28 years.
