Manage contractors specific to qualification and verification activities for new equipment being commissioned for NPI (New product intro) related activities. Direct team on time table and execution of equipment qualifications for NPI integration. Work through change control processes for design and manufacturing changes. Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing Advanced Manufacturing and cost-effective solutions, overseeing successful implementation from design through production readiness. Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining process requirements prior to validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance. Drive continuous simplification of QMS methods and their applications by working with cross-functional teams including Design, Operations, and Quality Assurance. Work with the facilities and maintenance team to implement change and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is required by customer demand. Manage 3P teams to ensure that design meets production constants and customer needs prior to release.

Responsible for entire product line as it relates to day to day operations in: Personnel (Production associates/Manufacturing Production Engineers/Technicians), Project management (NPI, equipment; PM, spec and purchase/internally built), capacity modeling (current state/six and twelve month projected), part flow/customer demand (Lean Six Sigma: Standard Work, TAKT time vs schedule, defect tracking/trending, scrap reduction), calibration/compliance, liaison between engineering/sourcing/materials and production, writing procedures/work instructions, implementation and training of said procedures for all production personnel

Created and implemented 24 Rework Processes. These rework processes carried a scrap savings of over $4.0M annually. Eliminated or minimized major yield defects: Result: Final Yield rose from 63% in 2005 to 93% in 2006. Customer Impact: Given the same number of starts, 406 additional tubes were delivered to customers with the same man hours. Led a cross-functional operations, design, and program team that delivered 1450 tubes to customers in 2009, over three times the output of 2008. Created and implemented process robustness to prevent assembly related defects. Reduced the internal rework rate from 35% in Q1 of 2007 to 10% in the second half of 2007. Implemented 126 ECR’s into Manufacturing during my time as MPE. Managed operational impact of all design changes, phase-in/phase-out of designs, and training while making full production. Cycle Time reduced from 37 days in Q1 to 23 days in Q4.

Duties included, but were not limited to; documenting and assisting in resolving customer complaints and concerns; interacting with all customers and vendors to ensure that specifications and requirements are met and understood prior to project start; maintaining and reporting on the status of nonconforming material; verifying all new and fabricated parts to latest revisions of customer prints to ensure zero defect; writing and maintaining all procedures and work instructions in accordance with ISO standards; visiting vendors to ensure requested manufacturing, inspection, and packaging procedures are maintained in accordance with purchase order requirements; maintaining vendor rating system to ensure quality and On-Time delivery for all products; maintaining calibration schedules for all measuring equipment; acting as a backup for the Shipping and Receiving Departments, as needed.

Duties included, but were not limited to; responsible for all day to day operations in customer service; residential and commercial estimating; writing proposals; material handling; inventory control; accounts payable; managing all employees; scheduling jobs and dispatching electricians; designing lighting systems; assessing blueprints for electrical code requirements. OSHA requirements and in house/at site safety programs.

Duties included, but were not limited to; acting as liaison between Sub-Assembly and Engineering; set-up, test, inspection, and verification of machinery, equipment, assemblies, and sub-assemblies to ensure quality standards; checking all parts returned from customers; acting as liaison between customers and all service, engineering, shipping/receiving, and inventory control departments, as well as outside suppliers; processing all internal problem parts.

Duties included, but were not limited to, building labeling machines, gearboxes, conveyors, and specialized handling parts from blueprints; design and fabrication of guarding for all moving parts of machines.
