My role requires me to lead two teams across the areas of Strategic Asset Management and Asset Data.The Asset Management team consists of asset and risk engineers who are responsible for the development of SSEN's Strategic Asset Management system, the control of the Asset Management Strategies for the Distribution assets up to 132 kV in the south of England and 33kV in the north of Scotland, the asset by asset risk assessments relating to those assets and the coordination and responsibility for SSEN ISO 55001 Asset Management accreditation.The Asset Data team consists of asset data analysts who operate the companies CBRM tool providing analysis of the asset performance against the business's Investment Plan and Regulatory commitments and provide Ofgem's CNAIM reporting requirements.Both teams are required to engage heavily across all areas within SSEN and also provide representation at external organisations, such as Ofgem's and the ENA.

I lead a team of highly skilled professionals who set the specification for and operational policies and procedures for all of SSE’s distribution assets.My team is spread throughout the Country making it accessible to fellow colleagues, suppliers and customers.We work within the Sustainability Section of the Asset Management Directorate, this ensures that are works are aligned to deliver the Company’s objective of NetZero

My role involves the reporting of performance information against the DPCR 5, RIIO ED1 regulatory submissions to the energy regulator OFGEM. Gong forward this will also involve reporting upon future investment performance in the RIIO ED1, 8 year price review. My role also requires engaging key departments within the business to ensure that they are informed of the impact of their projects and programmes upon the network's performance, health, loading and risk indicators.Currently I am leading a project to improve the speed, accuracy and assurance behind all regulatory submissions.

My role include technical leadership in the area of 'in service' distribution network assets up to 66kV. This includes the development of inspection and maintenance regimes, writing supporting asset management documentation, conducting incident investigations and providing documents to support the Electricity Distribution Price Review submission.I am responsible for writing specifications for distribution switchgear, transformers, line equipment and the subsequent technical evaluation of suppliers submissions.

Responsible for the development of Western Power’s Asset Management framework, this is a multiple stage development project. Currently leading a “gap analysis” of the 23 managed, “in service asset groups”.I led the production of the 5 year Regulatory Submission for Western Power’s ‘in service’ assets, which amounted to an investment request of $3.6BN in operational and capital expenditure.I was responsible for the production of the first “Network Management Plan”. This is a key document which supported the Regulatory Submission and is part of the Asset Management Framework; articulating Western Power’s approach to the management of it’s “in service” asset population.

I led a group of 13 Engineering staff within the Transmission Asset Management section. This involved:o The development of, maintenance and condition monitoring techniques for the transmission network. o Responsibility for a Asset Replacement budget of $24M and a Regulatory Compliance budget of $16M o The application of the combined maintenance approach to the Transmission Network primary assetso Conduct and manage Performance and Development Appraisals for all section members.

I provided, technical lead to Engineering staff within the Distribution Asset Management section in the development of maintenance and monitoring techniques for the distribution network. I developed asset performance criteria, which aimed at ensuring that the distribution assets achieved the required standards of performance for safety, service and reliability.
