MAY 2018 UPDATE! We're doing a full kitchen & bathrooms remodel at our Milton home in June 2018. I'm also starting to work on a daughter's addition/major remodel to begin in 2019. Get to work on design, permitting, etc. with contractors & suppliers to serve my customer - good stuff! MAY 2017 UPDATE! Grandpa Mike didn't become a realtor yet. Two son's bought homes in Sumner & Tacoma recently. Mike hopes to design, remodel & build homes in the future. Linda's crafting & will be sailing this summer at our Hood Canal home. God bless America!MORE MAY 2017 UPDATE! Grandma Linda has a 10 ft. Walker Bay 310 RID sailboat with a performance sail. She'll be sailing this summer with grand kids after the DK Days Carnival in May 2017 - argh, mateys, shiver me timbers! The family summer home in the Hood Canal Driftwood Key HOA community is up and running. Our mission is to "help those who help others" and serve as a place of rest for them, our family and our friends. We're also starting potluck & prayer groups andl providing free financial counseling. I coached a 3 to 4 year old soccer team in the fall - 2015 - in North Tacoma - and am helped coach a 5 yr old team in Fife/Milton Edgewood in 2016.I worked with retirees and active personnel on the GSA 2016 Holiday and Retirement Party at the Muckleshoot in December for Vista G. Am now helping CHS 65 grads "Welcome to the 70's" party at the Bahama Breeze in September 2017.We planted 300 - 400 flowers, bulbs and small trees at Hood Canal plus made & refinished benches and put up beach decor. The house is looking more and more like a summer beach home. We had about 75 guests in 2016. I'm now serving on a Finance Committee updating the HOA reserve study.That's all folks,Grandpa MIke

After retiring Linda suggested I get another job. So, I worked as a part time Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Pacific, WA. for awhile. I also reviewed and inspected applications for city business licenses, provided general office support and developed a computer database system to track our work.

I'm a retired federal Chief of Contracts for Design, Consulting and Construction work in the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, ID and AK), Hawaii and Canada. I managed $500M of projects as a Contracting Officer with an unlimited warrant. I worked for the GSA Public Buildings Service Design and Construction Contracting Team which was the best job ever.

I was the Contracting Officer for the New Seattle US Courthouse, Portland Hatfield US Courthouse, Blaine Pac/Highway Border Station, Oroville – Osoyoos American/Canadian Shared Border Station and more new construction and remodel projects throughout the Northwest, Hawaii and Canada. Our goal was to “Thrill the customer”.

I was a federal Business Manager, Senior Business Manager, and Chief of Business Management responsible for reviewing and reporting on costs, progress payments, estimates at completion, schedules and providing negotiation and claims settlement support for $4.0B of shipbuilding and repair projects in the Northwest. This was another great learning experience for a businessman and young manager on big projects.

I was a federal auditor responsible for reviewing, reporting and supporting negotiations of contractor proposals and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and government regulations. DCAA is a federal professional audit organization that helped me learn much about federal accounting regulations and business.
