    I took my passion for endurance sports, coaching, and entrepreneurship and channelled it into an endurance sports coaching business. Over the brief period of existence I was able to coach several athletes "from couch to finish line" in Ironman triathlons. I was responsible for developing a regimented training program tailored specifically to each athlete as well as daily check ins to respond to the athlete's prescribed workouts. I analyzed power data file analytics, heart rate data, and monitored dietary intake in relation to sports nutrition. I was certified by both USA Cycling and USA Triathlon. The things I learned most from this business endeavor were communication with people of varying backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic status; and when to force myself to make hard decisions. As this business was starting to grow the time and energy it took was starting to affect my other businesses as well. I had to decide to which path to take. I chose to close down the coaching business, and learned a great deal about myself in the process.

I stepped in after the previous head coach moved on to other opportunities and was immediately thrust into the Professional Coaching world. USA Hockey wrote an article about my experience entitled "Baptism by Fire." I learned a great deal about competitive intelligence, contract negotiation, talent development, professional development, and teamwork to name a few. This was one of the most difficult and rewarding experiences of my young adult life.
