His activities reflect his diverse research interests and skills in forage/range livestock production and agro-ecosystems. His work has focused on improving knowledge of introduced and native plant communities through development of simplified plant communities thus providing economically, environmentally and nutritionally sustainable forage resources to the livestock industry. Dr. Schellenberg presently leads Western Canada’s only native plant forage research program. He has been and is the lead or principal investigator for a number of studies dealing with native plant ecology, plant-animal interface, trace element uptake by forage and food crops and seed ecology. He has also served as local manager for periods of time over the last 15 years.Dr. Schellenberg's communication skills are evidenced by cloe to 100 peer reviewed articles, several chapters and manuals, over 100 public presentations and several media inteviews the past 10 years.Dr. Schellenberg is a Certified Professional in Rangeland Maangement, Licensed Professional Agrologist, Associate Plant Breeder recognised by the Canadian Seed Growers Association and an Adjunct Professor with the University of Saskatchewan.
