Mike Schmidt has been involved in Seniors' care and housing since leaving the Canadian Forces in 1994. His completion of an MBA in 1997 led him to the Schlegel Group of companies in that same year where he was appointed Administrator of the Village of Winston Park continuum of care facility. With 300 residents under his care, as well as 200 staff, Mike worked to establish Winston Park as the premier Long Term Care/Retirement complex in the Region of Waterloo. In 2007, Mike moved to Fairview Mennonite Home as Administrator, and then in 2008 was hired by the Region of Waterloo, Seniors' Services as their first Manager of Community Programs. In this role, Mike has responsibility for the Community Alzheimer Program, Supportive Housing, Volunteers, and the Sunnyside Wellness Centre.In January 2012, Mike joined Kensington Village Management as a shareholder and Vice President Operations. In this role, Mike is responsible for operations of over 400 beds at three Long Term Care/Retirement Homes - Kensington Village London, Bonnie Brae Tavistock and Saugeen Valley Mount Forest.In September 2014, Mike rejoined Schlegel Senior Villages as Director of Program Integration.
