Mike Schreiber is a New York-based artist and photographer who is celebrated for his captivating portraits that blend raw authenticity with striking composition. With a career spanning nearly three decades, he has captured the essence of the world’s biggest musicians, artists, and cultural icons including Hip-Hop legends Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Eminem, DMX, and M.I.A, among others for publications including XXL, Esquire, Rolling Stone, The Source, TRACE and Vibe. Schreiber has also traveled extensively across the globe where he has captured portraits and street scenes in Cuba, Nepal, and various countries across South America and Africa.In recent years, Schreiber has continued to document cultural icons and exhibit his work for the public to enjoy. This summer, he photographed Yasiin Bey and Erykah Badu as they embarked on their 2024 “Unfollow Me” tour. His work was also featured in FEELIN’ SOUNDS at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, his solo exhibition “Bright Moments” at NeueHouse in 2023, and in the international photography museum Fotografiska’s traveling exhibition, “Hip-Hop: Conscious, Unconscious,” currently on view at Fotografiska Berlin. His first book, “True Hip-Hop” was published in 2010.
