Chair of auditor oversight committee The Auditor Oversight Committee was formed on 1 September 2016 to advise the Financial Markets Authority in relation to audit quality reviews and investigations carried out under the Auditor Regulation Act 2011. The role provides me with a strong link to the FMA, allows me understand the financial reporting and auditing issues that the FMA is focussed on and gives me good insight into the quality of the auditing firms, including those other than the Big 4.

The company operates processing facilities throughout NZ, employing more than 7,000 staff with annual revenue of more than $2 billion. Chair of the audit committee which is responsible for external financial reporting, external and internal audits and risk management. In addition to the regular duties of the board of a large profit enterprise, particular experience gained in appointing new CEO, re-negotiating banking facilities, changing external auditors, international sales and marketing operations including entering into China, Germany and the US, undergoing major overhaul of strategy. The entity requires particular focus on Health & Safety / environmental issues at processing plants; undertaking detailed review of foreign exchange policy and treasury practices; major renewal of IT systems and environment; and managing complex shareholder relationships between the Co-operative farmer directors and the Chinese directors of Shanghai Maling.

McCarthyFinch is currently migrating the business to the west coast of the USA.
