Mike Schultz is a "Embrace the grind, reap the reward” at Blackmon Mooring & BMS CAT. Colleagues describe them as "Mike is an outstanding example of a Level 5 Leader, as described in one of my favorite business books, Good to Great. While I was Chief Sales Officer at Coverall Mike was a Regional Sales Manager for me, overseeing the top performing sales team in the nation, year after year. I greatly enjoyed working with Mike who was one of the first leaders I hired into the newly re-engineered sales organization that we developed to lead us into the future. I could not have been more happy with having a leader like Mike help me to lead the charge into a culture of sustainable accelerated growth. Mike has exceptionally strong analytical, observational, and emotional intelligence capabilities. I think these served Mike well in his hiring and people development efforts. Mike led the nation of 35 other managers with the best employee retention year after year. Mike has a keen skill of really connecting with people at their core, who they are, what they are made of, what they want and need, and he ensures that he hires the very best fit. What's also cool about Mike is that he also adjusts his own behavior to also be the best fit, the best manager for each individual and their unique needs. Because of these exceptionally strong skills, and empathetic communication style, I often had Mike train other leaders, and travel to other markets to help us to figure out the true dynamics of a struggling team. Mike would expertly evaluate how their challenges were affecting the team, how the culture was contributing to the challenge and much more. I felt like I could send Mike anywhere and he'd come out with a spot-on analysis of what's going on, along with a recipe for how to successfully improve the struggling team.
