A senior leader in the effective management of complex estates and facilities operations and major capital and infrastructure projects, leading people through change, implementing technology solutions and new management systems. Always looking for opportunities to stretch and develop my skills whilst delivering improved performance and capability of the Organisation. At both Lancaster and Queen Mary I had responsibiliy for significant departments and activities within the Estates and Facilities. At both organisations each of the departments employed over 350 FTE staff to deliver its services. Leading these substantial teams and ensuring effective resource management was a key aspect of my roles. I am as passionate about getting the customer service experience right as I am about developing right value sustainable infrastructure, buildings and operations and this required me to actively manage resources effectively in order to get the best possible outcome for the university, it’s students, staff and visitors. In terms of financial resource management, At QMUL I was accountable for significant revenue budgets across the estates function of approximately £33m per annum and I had the leading role in delivering the universities £500m ten year capital programme. My career to date has involved working across a number of large complex organisations and working with large and diverse groups of people. Leading and influencing such groups has required effective negotiation skills. I am a committed individual who is comfortable with leading and managing change. I always challenge the status quo within organisations and I continually look for ways to improve but I never change for change sake.
