EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Interim School Administrator (September 2008 - June 2014)Union County Public Schools - 400 North Church Street, Monroe, NC 28112Contracted on a school-by-school basis to fill crucial principal and assistant principal vacancies. Timeframe ranged from two-week to 10-month postings at more than a dozen elementary, middle, and high schools. Responsibilities included assessing immediate needs dictated by the nature of each position vacancy, as well as day-to-day teacher and student supervision, parent and community outreach, campus safety and security, and instructional and athletic program leadership. Challenges included implementing a new state teacher evaluation instrument and managing completion of a major school renovation construction project. High School Testing Coordinator (August 2007 - January 2008)Coordinated the state and local school testing program in the UCPS at Sun Valley High School. Responsibilities included organizing the implementation of national assessments including ACT and SAT, plus all mandated state tests including End Of Course exams. Challenges included teacher training for test administration, identifying and assigning individual special needs students to appropriate test settings, effective community outreach to secure testing proctor volunteers, ensuring test materials security, and efficiently assigning and scheduling testing sites accounting for all of the above. Notable was the successful pilot of the first Physics End Of Course Exam remotely administered by the state Department of Public Instruction via computer network.
