I am helping them to resolve difficult issues.I am highly skilled at solving production support issues both during the day and also out of hours.I am good at identifying issues and providing effective solutions using oracle pl/sql but also other languages such as cobol and unix scripting as well.I am able to call upon my extensive experience and help to advise on how best to design and build small and large projects.To do all of the above - I have to be an excellent communicator and have to be well trusted by both my peers and senior leaders.I will also provide input on ways of working and put forward suggestions on how we can work better as a team and effectively manage the workload.Supporting and Show less

I started work at ShopDirect when it was known as Littlewoods and have worked there continuosly until my transfer to IBM in July 2017.My initial role was as a trainee where I received 12 weeks of training to become an Oracle pl/sql developer. After I completed this training, I was assigned to the team which was building a new customer account management service. This service covered order processing, statementing and a myriad of other functions relevant to the customer.As I gained experience and knowledge of the business and my skills in Oracle pl/sql increased, I gathered new skills for example I implemented the first mod_plsql application for ShopDirect, I took responsiblilty for the visual basic for applications tools including re-writing a number of them so that they were more efficient and resilient.For a number of projects, I took a lead developer role with a small team of developers where I managed and reviewed their work as well as liasing with the lead analyst from the beginning to the end of the projects.In recent years, I have been heavily involved in production support of one of the critical systems in shopdirect. As part of this, I have managed to initiate and deploy a number of improvements including reducing the amount of out of hours calls, improving the efficiency of a number of processes, reducing by 25% plus the amount of space used.As part of my role, we have to present changes to production to a Change Advisory Board who approve or reject changes to production.
