I left school and went into Banking. After two years I left to take 5 year articles of Clerkship with Charsley, Leonard, Solicitors in their Slough Office. I left to work In Aylesbury D.C., worked In High Wycombe Magistrates' Court as a clerk, then Bruce, Lance & Co. as an Assisitant Solicitor, I left to become the first 'In-house' solicitor for Motorists' Legal Protection (one of the first Legal Expenses companies in the U.K.). I then ran my own specialist P.I. practice for 2 years before joining another Hertfordshire practice. They made me redundant and went bust shortly thereafter. I was offered a post in Norwich, back in Legal Expenses field in which I remained for 3 years..but hated it! So, I locummed for a period and ended up in a practice in Gt. Yarmouth, where I stayed until deciding to become a career locum, working in various practices around Southern England. I eventually retired aged 60 . Since this time I have become a keen amateur Historian, guide to Historic buildings and Medieval Graffitti Surveyor. I was also a branch committee member of CAMRA. I continue to enjoy almost all things historic and/or ale/beer orientated and travel! As Hobbies..I have been a keen amateur actor, a Motor-racing marshal at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Mallory Park, Cadwell Park & Snetterton (Where I was also a professional weekday 'Testing Session' marshal for a period, between legal assignments).I am now a keen scuba diver as well as my historical pursuits! But cannot do enough of it!
