About Mike St. Clair
With more than 40 years experience with genealogical research primarily focused on the US and Canada. I also have experience with research in Scotland, continental Europe and Scandinavia. Elected a fellow of the National Genealogical Society in 1998, I have been a pioneer in using the Internet in support of genealogy. With a B. S. degree in Computer Science, I am also proficient in the use of computer and Internet-based resources as applied to genealogical research. Having taught sessions at many national, regional and local genealogical conferences, I have served on the conference committees for several GENTECH conferences (as program chair for GENTECH99), and have taught dozens of classes on the use of Personal Ancestral File (PAF) and using the Internet for Genealogy. A past State Coordinator for the Idaho Project of USGENWEB and a past member of their national Advisory Board. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society. A past staff member of the Oakton Virginia Family History Center and the Mount Timpanogos Multi-stake Family History Center in American Fork, Utah, I currently support the technology at the Family History Center in the Alpine Tabernacle in American Fork, I have also worked with FamilySearch in their Research Assistance group and Record Operations Center. I have extensive experience working with computers (from personal computers to mainframes) and networking. My work experience includes government (US House of Representatives and several executive branch agencies), manufacturing, and software development/support.Specialties: Genealogical research, network configuration, development and management; computer and server administration; web development and management.
