Mike qualified as a Mechanical Engineer in 1982 and spent most of his former career in steel production, lubricant blending and crude and lubricant base oil refining. He spent a number of years in corporate planning, dealing with Oil Industry regulatory and policy issues in South Africa, as well as being responsible for group strategy. He headed the sales and marketing group responsible for fuel and lubricant sales to commercial customers in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini. He recently managed the supply chain in the Engen affiliate countries in Sub-Sahara Africa. He is currently fulfilling a Product Owner role for a Salesforce implementation project. He previously served on the boards of the South African Oil Refinery (SAFOR), Engen Lesotho, Engen Eswatini, Engen Tanzania and SA National Energy Association (SANEA). He also served on boards/associations, covering a broad range of interests including artisan development, environmental recycling and clean fuels. Mike is married with 3 adult daughters.
