I took over the family run business in 2004, that was on the verge of closing and decided to breath new life in to it . At the time i took the business over its turnover was approx 65k and to date in 2020 now turning over 1.1m . This has all been done through no investment. The business at the time had 10k in the bank and with that i proceeded to get the business dragged in to the 21st century, baring in mind the shop did not even have way of taking card payments at time i took over. The store sells DJ equipment including professional sound and lighting equipment for any live performance situation, for a restaurant to a nightclub or from a mobile DJ to a band, anything sound and lighting we have got it covered . Over the past 17 years i managed to move the shop in to larger premisses and expand our services from retail to installation services as well. I have built a solid team around me and I think this down to how i treat employees and let them develop there own unique skills and work as team to a common goal.Also i have gained a few business awards along the way . 1, North East regional winner of internet & ITC 20072, Darlington borough council D2E e-commerce award 3, Pro Mobile Magazine Retailer of the year 2018 & 2020These are achievements i am very proud of. I have also built an social media platform for the business of over 6k followers on facebook and 9k+ Youtube subscription. These i have achieved through no financial advertising to gain followers , but my own unique way of promoting products and product reviews . I started my YOUTUBE channel back in 2007 and saw the format as a great way of interacting with customers online in a personal manner and to this day in the world of online, i still believe people buy from people . I am also very big on customer service and also think this has been key for us as a little fish in a pond of big fish to survive in these modern times .
