I have over 35 years of wide ranging experience in designing, implementing and managing network infrastructure, supporting systems and now "cloud" infrastructure. I have worked in the trenches as a single "do it all" engineer and I have been a Director of Infrastructure with global network supporting 40 plus sites and 3,000 plus users. My last datacenter project had a $4.5 million dollar budget and a 9 month schedule. My team and I met the schedule and were $400,000 dollars under budget. I am a results oriented team lead with a good work ethic and strong mentoring skills. I am a published author in the technical world and in photography. I find that my passions for technology and creativity blend together so I am always looking outside of the box to find solve challenges.I put many of my skills together for a migration that successfully moved over 100 virtual servers from Vmware into Azure in a time frame of less than 6 months. This was standing up a completely new Azure environment from scratch, designing the new architecture to current best practices then implementing it as we migrating services and resources. I managed my staff, two teams of consultants and worked closely with the development teams to meet challenges and overcome impediments to successfully complete the migrations with 1 hour to space on the deadline set by the CTO. My current Azure footprint is over 300 Iaas Servers, A couple dozen PaaS services, Databricks, ML, AI, several subscriptions and a global user base. I run Citrix in the cloud, Fortigate cloud firewalls and cloud based Netapp appliances. All in all, a fairly sophisticated Azure footprint.Currently I am building a DevOps team from scratch based around self hosted Github Enterprise, Terraform Enterprise, Vault and other tools. This is along with running the infrastructure side of the house in Azure. Definitely not a boring day around here.
