The San Marcos Fire Department (SMFD) is a full-service department responsive to the City of San Marcos and the San Marcos Fire Protection District, which covers an area of 33 square miles and a population of approximately 95,000 residents. The department staffs four stations 24 hours a day. I work part time as an EMT partnered with a Firefighter/Paramedic on an ALS ambulance responding to 911 calls throughout northern San Diego county.

I work on a part time basis as an EMT at special events with the Chula Vista Fire Department. The majority of my shifts are at the 20,500+ capacity North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre where I work alongside the full time paramedics providing all medical services at the venue.

Responsible for growing the group, tour and scheduling international events two times a year.

The EMT Program at Miramar Community College is designed to offer comprehensive education and skills-training in the provision of prehospital emergency care. The course completion certificate is a requirement of eligibility in qualifying for the certification exam for EMTs in the State of California. I work on a part time basis assisting the course instructors in administering the labs and exams for the students.

I am a member of the Board of Trustees for The Grauer School, an independent college preparatory school in Encinitas, CA. The Grauer School has a student and faculty body of approximately 200 across grades 7-12. The Grauer School’s purpose is to teach and encourage students to become resourceful, intellectually curious and intrinsically motivated, perseverant, self-advocating, and accountable in a compassionate, college preparatory environment.

Advantage Ambulance is a private BLS and CCT (Critical Care Transport) ambulance provider headquartered in San Diego. I worked 2-3 shifts per month with a partner where we provide BLS transport of patients getting discharged from hospitals, taking critical care patients to medical appointments, and interfacility transport. I had long had an interest in EMS and this was my first entry to do so!

I specialized in writing commercial insurance programs across a range of industries. My expertise focused on discussing the risks and exposures faced by business owners and working with a variety of companies to formulate programs that included coverage for business and personal liabilities, property, and worker’s compensation.

I sold internetworking and data storage technology solutions to Fortune 1000 companies in the San Diego area. Technology partners included Cisco, EMC, NetApp, and Nortel.

I worked for a regional systems integrator that was purchased by IKON. We provided internetworking solutions centered around the Cisco platform.
