Served as the Lead Quality Control Inspector of a 20-mile section of a $900M+ Design/Build project in Northern Virginia that includes the Springfield and Fairfax County Parkway Interchanges. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling daily inspection duties for a staff of 20 engineers, inspectors, and technicians. Provided oversight of inspection staff, assisted staff with inspections of multiple structures (new bridges and rehabs, MSE walls, tieback retaining walls, sound walls, OH sign foundations, tolling structures, etc.), barrier walls, storm drainage, grading, pavement markings, guardrail, etc. Independently performed and published punch list inspections for items noted above.

Provide management-level services, under the direction of the Project Manager, for structural (bridges, box culverts, retaining walls) construction and inspection.Review and monitor contractor’s schedule; assure work procedures and required documentation comply with the contract plans and specificationsWork closely with the Engineer to: keep the Engineer and VDOT apprised of contract progress, identify changes required to suit field conditions and suggest possible solutions, inform the Engineer of non-compliant work and suggest remedial actionsSupervise structural inspection staff: schedule inspection activities, provide inspection oversight, review IDR’s and recommend improvements to accurately reflect and document the progress of the work. Review monthly payments with the contractor and Office Engineer; provide assistance to the Office Engineer with processing Monthly Estimates
