Performed as an Engineering Technician (mechanical and electronics) for the Combat Systems branch of the engineering and planning department at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Prepared Technical Work Documents for mechanics to perform troubleshooting and repair of combat system-related mechanical systems and Non-propulsion Electronics Systems (NPES) onboard Ohio class and Seawolf class nuclear submarines. Prepared and reviewed SUBSAFE technical work documents, including Objective Quality Evidence forms. Ordered material for maintenance items, including SUBSAFE and Level 1 material. Prepared Job Summaries (including labor and material cost estimates) for submarine maintenance availabilities, encompassing work with Torpedo Tube, External Countermeasure Launching, Strategic Weapons, and Mast / Antenna / Periscope systems. Conducted Job Summary scoping meetings to coordinate planned maintenance with operations department supervisors. Provided onboard technical troubleshooting, repair assistance and training to submarine crew members as a member of the Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) team and during Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA) for the AN/BYG-1(V) Combat Control System. Performed at-sea testing on a variety of NPES and weapons-related mechanical equipment, and provided technical evaluation of the resulting test data. Coordinated with outside entities (e.g. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Lockheed-Martin Corp, etc) in providing technical assistance to tendered submarines. . Performed torpedo tube testing utilizing the Weapons and Launcher Test Set (WALTS) MK 692 Mod 2, during TSRAs on SSGNs. Performed torpedo tube missile testing utilizing the Mk 693 Mod 2 Guidance Test Set (GTS) on SSN 21 class submarines. Acted as a Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) inspector for the AN/BYG-1(V)6 Combat Control System onboard USS Seawolf (SSN 21). Qualified as a Combat Systems Shipboard Test director and Radiation Worker (limited).

Acted as a liaison between Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) and the local intermediate maintenance activity with regards to coordinating production work and obtaining hotel services for use by multiple AITs onboard tendered submarines. Provided technical input to, and accomplished the routing of individual Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) between pertinent commands and facilities involved in accomplishing alterations onboard submarines undergoing intermediate level and organizational level availabilities. Coordinated the removal of obsolete software (classified and unclassified) from tendered submarines prior to alteration installation, in support of modification ILS requirements. Participated in, and provided action item resolution for major modernization period planning meetings. Acted as SSN-21 Seawolf-class submarine backup liaison. Performed hardware and software audits on tendered submarines. Installed temporary alterations (TEMPALTS) onboard Ohio-class TRIDENT submarines.

Supervised, mentored, trained and qualified sailors in the theory, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures of all TRIDENT (Ohio Class submarine) Defensive Weapons System, Data Processing System and Noise & Vibration Monitoring System equipment (USS Henry M. Jackson, USS Alaska). Acted as the shipboard Local Area Network (LAN) administrator onboard, and provided shipboard orientation and training related to the operation and maintenance of all LAN equipment, with an emphasis on information assurance and security (NIPRNET and SIPRNET). Operated as a Weapons system Project Manager during the USS Alaska Engineered Overhaul at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, while assigned to Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest. Updated and maintained thousands of production jobs in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard AIM database. Coordinated, directed, performed and evaluated pre and post-patrol system level evaluation testing on TRIDENT Command and Control System (CCS) equipment. Participated in, and provided feedback to the system level software certification of TRIDENT CCS Revision 5.0.
