While pursuing my BA degree in Civil Engineering @ MSU, I worked for a general contractor based out of Mississippi's Gulf Coast region and gained valuable experience in estimating and project management as well as field experience on a handful of large construction projects, including the expansion to the west side of MSU's Davis Wade Stadium. Upon completion of my BA, I decided to pursue my Master's in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering. My research consisted of a fairly heavy mixture of design of carbon fiber reinforced structures, reliability analysis and design, and structural optimization. Upon graduation I began working for Zahl-Ford Structural Consultants in Oklahoma City. Through the years I've gained a extremely wide and deep pool of experience on a variety of challenging projects (some are listed below). In addition to those projects, I've worked on a number of investigative projects for a variety of clients including insurance companies, private owners, and litigators. I've gained supplementary education in the fields of anti-terrorism force protection and progressive collapse prevention engineering, concrete strengthening with CFRP, and post-tensioned concrete design. I'm well-versed in Revit (BIM) projects, project management, use of ASCE 31 for seismic evaluations, and FEMA 361 for design of safe rooms.I'm currently part of the three-person ownership group at ZFI responsible for setting the firm's overall vision, setting project and client-related goals, making personnel decisions, as well as implementing training and design process decisions. We look forward to providing structural solutions to challenging problems for our clients, whether it be new design, renovations, or investigating efforts.
