Lead the team that manages the restaurant technology as well as the IT support desk. ✦ Implement team travel to restaurants for on-site technology support and guidance. ✦ Negotiation with credit card processing vendors to realize a 45% reduction in processing fees.✦ Vendor management of POS and Support companies, Credit and Gift card processors.

I managed the second level support then the third level support team. I Led staff of 3 to 5 and worked closely with restaurant operations, restaurant accounting, restaurant marketing and payroll. Contributions include:✦ Managed configuration and enhancement of a new Point of Sale (POS) system from lab, pilot and roll-out stages. This improved the customer experience and realized a $2 million savings in training costs and $5 million in food costs annually. ✦ Tasked with configuration and testing of new POS hardware. Found a critical issue with a vendor’s hardware which required them to rework from the factory.✦ The team developed the online ordering interface to the POS system; this allows the company to generate sales from another revenue stream.✦ The team created the interface to the Kitchen Display System, this system will replace printers in the kitchen area. This will also allow operations additional cook time metrics and reduce costs by eliminating paper.✦ Managed a complete rewrite of the credit card and gift card system, this included interfaces to the bank and the employee GUI. This rewrite has increased the speed and stability of transactions, greatly improving customer satisfaction.✦ The team designed and developed a full labor suite of programs that include a forecaster, scheduler and Matrix. This suite allowed restaurant operations to save over $8 million annually in labor costs.

Researched, implemented and managed POS systems (hardware and software), working closely with the POS committee to understand business needs. I managed the second level support team. Successes include:✦ A rewrite of back office applications in VB6 from DOS C, creating a stable and maintainable system.✦ A Reduction of code in the main POS application from 1.2 million to 600,000+ lines, the removal of unused and unnecessary modules of code created a more simplified and stable system.✦ The creation of the Labor Matrix application as performed, this allowed restaurant operations to visibly see how many employees in each category were needed during each hour of any day.
