• To provide leadership in the strategic direction of the corporate sanitation program by driving both performance and standardization across the organizational network. • To liase with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders including: plant leadership, plant sanitation teams, external sanitation contractors, sanitation chemical suppliers, Engineering, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing. • To provide oversight to the organizational network to ensure sanitation programs are deployed to efficiently deliver cleaning effectiveness and with minimal degradation of assets. • To collaboratively work across functions (Operations, Purchasing, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance) to drive value from vendors (sanitation chemical suppliers and third-party sanitation contract services) and to ensure equipment is designed and built to provide accessibility to be cleaned and can be cleaned effectively. • To ensure sanitation, sanitary design, and listeria control practices at Maple Leaf Foods are world-class and executed against best in class practices through collaboration. • To continue to provide senior strategic leadership for Safety, Security, Environment across the organization.

Maple Leaf Foods Inc.’s Vice President, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment• To support all Maple Leaf Food facilities in their Operational Risk Management Program that includes: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS); Environmental Affairs; Security; Property Insurance (working with our insurer to mitigate risks); Operational Risk Management, including Emergency Management; Workers’ Compensation; and Corporate Office’s Facilities Central Services.• To provide leadership in coordination of facility Operational Risk Management activities, such as: loss prevention (emergency response system and planning), loss control (emergency response procedures), crisis communication (with internal and external stakeholders), recovery (for business continuity), and partnership with the insurer in their Loss Prevention Engineering Visit Audits. • To focus on the reduction/elimination of incidents that cause injury and property damage, reduction of absenteeism, minimization of Workers’ Compensation costs, security of people and property, and leading the Emergency Management Council. • To allocate adequate resources to support functional areas in the development of recovery plans that are specific to the functional areas.• To promote employee involvement in occupational health and safety (OHS) through the support of 44 OHS designates and the Senior OHS Team (consisting of 8 senior OHS managers across Maple Leaf Foods). • To provide the company with an internal resource expert in OHS to facilitate the development of the Maple Leaf Foods’ OHS program internationally across the organization.• To provide support for all Maple Leaf Foods’ Corporate OHS initiatives.• To coordinate, support, and implement Workers’ Compensation program (including claims management, return to work, and appeals process).• To develop plant budgets and the ongoing support of capital expenditures.• To present a quarterly update to Maple Leaf Foods’ Board of Directors.
