Focused on helping superintendents, sports field managers and other irrigation professionals use technology to do their jobs more effectively and spend less time accomplishing better results. My objective is to assist customers in transforming their irrigation process and belp make the experience a significant milestone in their career.In my free time, I'm an inventor and have a patent pending on a simple no-dig method of raising sprinklers to grade level-- with a screwdriver, not a shovel. Through the prototyping process for this product, I learned to create 3D models and print them on a 3D printer. Using boards typically found on 3D printers, I have been working on building wireless sensor networks and connecting them to online services for data display & device control.Created a tipping bucket rain gauge add-on which provides the capability to close a relay once the rainfall threshold is reached. The off-the-shelf rain gauge being has accuracy to .01". The add-on device simply intercepts and decodes the same wireless data being broadcast to an indoor LCD display. The add-on enhances the off-the-shelf system by allowing the user to automatically control a relay based on rainfall amounts. Constantly tweaking the user interface to make it easy to adjust and simple to read at-a-glance.Created a smarter rain gauge that uses online weather services to predict rainfall at specific location before it happens, send e-mail notifications 45-minutes before it rains and provides relay closures to pause or cancel irrigation automatically. This project is a working prototype for proof of concept.
