Distinguished Technologist
CurrentFor the last several years, I have been part of a team of technologists developing the strategy and architecture for industry standard memory semantic fabrics and interconnect technology beginning with Gen-Z and now Compute Express Link (CXL). CXL supports the interconnect of CPUs, memory (volatile, non-volatile, and persistent storage class), accelerators (GPUs, FPGA, etc.), I/O, and storage components. CXL is scalable from single computer systems, to modular enclosures, to rack-scale systems. I have developed numerous white papers that were posted to the Gen-Z consortium website and have developed a series of presentations about CXL technology and solutions for HPE internal audiences, as well as those for HPE customers. I am currently actively leading the development of POC and prototype CXL-enable solutions that will drive the design and architecture of HPE's future CXL-enabled product lines. To learn more, see the CXL Consortium website at http://computeexpresslink.org. Prior to Gen-Z I served as the primary architect of the networking and fabric subsystems for the new HPE Synergy system. I conceived and developed the central/satellite switch architecture for Synergy that enables cost effective, high performance expansion of an Ethernet fabric across multiple Synergy frames. Prior to Synergy, I led the HPE Server group's strategy and architecture for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and HPE's Virtual Connect product line for HPE's c-Class Blade Server platform. Currently, I am part of the Advanced Development (CTO) team in HPE's Compute Business Unit (BU). Show less
