Built an IoT backend solution for a video streaming product that discovers and manages security cameras on a closed network using the ONVIF standard. I developed the initial POC all the way through to a customer-ready product. I set up the CI/CD pipelines using Azure pipelines initially and now GitHub actions. Stack: Spring Boot java microservices, Azure IoT Edge, Azure Service Bus.Reduced throughput on our main Azure Cosmos Db by ~80% by simplifying our system architecture and optimizing the handling of security camera events. Reduced video call-up times by ~2 seconds by advocating for improvements to our architecture that reduced the chattiness of our microservices and eliminated unnecessary pass-through coupling.Lead developer on a project to enable Clery reporting for public safety customers. Created a CI/CD pipeline in Azure to deploy our microservice and frontend application in a managed Kubernetes cluster. Stack: C# .NET Core, Angular, Azure Cosmos Db, Docker, Kubernetes.Reduced build times on a 10-year-old monolithic java web app from ~40 minutes down to ~10 and reduced the size of the build artifact by 60%. Discovered significant security vulnerabilities in partner public safety products and escalated solutions through internal processes.
