Hugely passionate about helping people, both professionally and personally, to achieve their potential and through them their businesses. Making a difference is what I love to do and often say that if I won the lottery, I would still carry on.........but I guess I'd need to buy a ticket for this to come true!!Working more ON the business rather than IN the business is excellent but not sufficient......successful business leaders work on developing & growing themselves as well! What do so many business leaders who I've worked with say about me? They would say I am........supportive, inquisitive, listener, straight talker & challenging, logical & structured, enthusiastic, thoughtful & caring, bright, determined and personable. Helps deliver better performance & results!I am seen as a catalyst for change – working closely with CEOs/MDs and their Boards/Senior Leadership Teams, assisting them to become stronger leaders & teams, accelerate development and growth, transform their companies and help create more fulfilling lives for themselves and their employees. I operate as a Coach, Mentor, Advisor &/or NED. I have had a varied, successful and enjoyable career with highs and lows over which time I have honed a range of skills and gathered a ‘boatload’ of experiences which has equipped me to really help others. There have been times with stellar performances in challenging circumstances, building outstanding teams and leading transformational change but conversely I've had times where imposter syndrome has kicked in, sleepless nights of worry, 'command and control' became my norm rather than empowering the team and making some really poor knee-jerk decisions! Confucius said: “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.” Lessons learnt help us improve and help us help others....which is why I became a coach & mentor. My focus now is on assisting ambitious and open-minded business leaders, steering, supporting and challenging them to grow with confidence. I have supported and challenged over 50 great CEOs/MDs and many more senior leadership team members over the years and continue to be passionate about coaching, mentoring and leadership development.I was an owner, director, MD or Partner for 26 years across food, drink, agriculture, retail, wholesale, packaging and consultancy, in corporates & SMEs before moving to coaching, mentoring, leadership development & non-exec.

Formed in 1957 it works relentlessly to establish what really works to deliver great results for its members. Vistage Chairs deliver value by enabling people to become better leaders who make better decisions and get better results……whilst creating more balanced and fulfilled lives for themselves. Over the 8 years as a Vistage Chair I supported 50+ great CEOs & MDs in the East Midlands on a 1:1 basis and also ran two Peer-to-Peer Groups with them. Additionally, I ran a two year training programme for members of their Senior Leadership Teams. What set these individuals apart? They were people who set high goals, loved learning, relished being challenged, embraced new ideas, committed to take action, understood the power of the collective and who valued the input that a group of talented and successful fellow leaders can make to both their business and personal lives.I thrived on bringing together groups of open minded leaders, from a range of sectors, willing to share experiences, bring different perspectives and learn from each other. It has been often demonstrated that whilst all members may be individually strong, together they are stronger. As Chair, I facilitated these regular confidential meetings where members assisted each other with business and life challenges - matters were openly discussed and resolutions developed together. Expert input is also injected into the sessions and also in major open days by world class speakers engaging in an interactive way. More in-depth support that requires additional time and focus was covered in the monthly 1:1 coaching sessions outside of the meetings. Show less -
