Responsible for the advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment associated with the Mobile Telephone Switching Office (MTSO). Other duties include coordinating installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities to include (but not limited to) OC48, T3, T1, and DSO, SONET and EBH. Maintaining system applications and ensuring quality customer service by providing support to a varied user community. Updating daily logs with site-specific information. Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation. Perform duties with minimum supervision and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled. Troubleshoots, upgrades, and administers multiple vendor systems. Installs, operates, administers, and performs advanced maintenance of switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment associated with the Mobile Telephone Switching Office.

Monitored overall telecommunication systems performance, identifies poor quality lines, circuit utilization, antenna issues, cost reduction initiatives and service improvement opportunities. MOS 2841 - Ground Radio RepairerSummary.Ground radio repairers are trained to install, diagnose, modify, and perform organizational and intermediate repairs on ground common radio equipment and related electronic equipment. Typical duties include the troubleshooting and repair of ground common radio systems and related electronic equipment at an organizational unit or intermediate maintenance activity. These Marines also requisition parts, complete repair orders, and assist in the installation of ground common radio systems.Prerequisites:• Must be a U.S. Citizen• Must possess an EL score of 115 or higher.• Security requirement: Secret security clearance eligibility.• Must have normal color vision.• Must have completed 1 year of high school algebra.Requirements:• Complete the Basic Electronics Course and the Ground Transmission Systems Repair Course at MCCES, 29 Palms, CA. • Marines must have 36 months of obligated service remaining upon graduation from the Ground Transmission Systems Repair Course.
