Since our formation in 1995 I have been heading up 3i Studio Ltd, providing the very best in modular CAFM software, data services, training and support to the commercial and government facilities management market. Our software modules provide for all aspects of the data and analysis needs of those who operate and manage large property portfolios whether it be an entire national Health Service estate, an NHS Trust, a Local Authority, an educational establishment, a fire authority or a county police force.We use the latest technologies and with an enthusiastic and highly motivated team of analysts, developers and technical staff, 3i Studio provide comprehensive and highly competitive software for estates and facilities managers based around our ESTATE Suite modular software range.I have a thorough understanding of all aspects of building management and having been involved in all 3i Studio’s major projects. Usefully, I have developed a practical understanding of the Facilities Management marketplace by constant liaison with both clients and other product developers and service providers, with one of my main concerns being to give all our clients an easy to use, workable solutions for their survey, data services and CAFM software needs.I’ve utilised my skills with CAD in the development of `live data connectivity' applications, mainly for use in our own ESTATE Suite & FM Portal packages. An exciting part of this project has involved creating a mini application for AutoCAD - EasyLink. As well as generating area information from the plans and using that to automatically populate the database, it also automatically graphically hatches the drawings with such details as departmental occupancy, presence of asbestos and spatial spare capacity.I am actively involved in the development of automated routines to enable connectivity between our hand-held survey devices, AutoCAD and the ESTATE Manager database.
