Mr. Orlando is the co-founder, Chief Technology Officer, and visionary of Lumate, a company enabling advertisers to reach their intended audience. Focusing on the mobile advertising space in 2012, Lumate is pioneering programmatic buying of mobile advertising through their context-driven mobile DSP, AdTrade™, and their white label self service portal, AdMotive™. Lumate is a technology company serving the needs of the mobile advertising supply chain by supplying data rich audience targeting capabilities to advertisers and networks.He has led the company from concept to reality. This process required him to learn the details to execute many job functions: grant and contract writing, angel and venture capital fundraising, accounting, software development, business intelligence, management, marketing and branding. He manages all fiscal operations and records of the company, including fundraising and regulatory compliance. He oversees the technical development process, system architecture design and implementation of core technical systems.Lumate was originally founded to provide high quality jobs to students at Missouri S&T, it has experienced many pivots and alternative ventures. Mr. Orlando interviewed and worked with over 100 students, although he no longer oversees hiring. He has reviewed hundreds of business proposals, providing invaluable experience in honing the vision and direction of Lumate. He was instrumental in the company's acceptance to the Capital Innovators accelerator program, reception of an Arch Grant in 2012, award of an Small Business Innovation Research contract from the EPA (the youngest team to receive one), and finalist status in the Global Venture Challenge. He was also a key designer of one of the first one dimensional barcode scanning apps, and over 25 other games and apps published on the iOS and Android platforms.

Mr. Orlando managed the interactions of students with volunteers from small cities as they gathered project requirements and presented a project plan, budget, and timeline. In this process, he taught the students the basic tenets of project management.His work helping students and serving the rural communities under Dr. Burgher and Dr. Schuman received national press in 2009.

Mr. Orlando was elected as the director of the campus's production group to expand its capabilities. In his tenure, he was responsible for executing the technical production (audio/visual) of hundreds of live events. He procured over $30,000 in capital for additional equipment, rebranded the group, hired and trained over 15 part time employees, and expanded the revenue of the group to a record high. He managed all aspects of the operation, including financial bookkeeping, hiring/training, technical operations, fundraising, client interaction, marketing, and advertising.Light and Sound is the largest and most technically capable student-operated production group in the country without a professional staff member, and has been since 2006.
