Over the past 8 years, or so, I've had the privilege of instructing non-ministry undergraduates! It's been a lot of fun and a challenge. The challenge is, "how do I help folks not going into ministry to care and learn about theology?" To make this a bit more challenging this is a required course.What I've done is turn the course into application. Sure the students get the famous super-long nuanced words and definitions, but they learn how them in simple ways and with a challenge of applying them. Our definition of theology is the process of applying what you believe into everyday life.We also utilize various media to reinforce learning in memorable ways. I am certain I've learned as much as any of my students over the years.

Engage in the Westwood Bush Lake community by linking arms with amazing volunteers who love kids, families, and the Kingdom.I also am working on two specialized teams to implement vision and create processes: Near 10 (collaborating to plant 100 immigrant churches in 10 years) and Racial Justice and Reconciliation (an endeavor to create pathways for the Kingdom of God to look like our communities)In these three endeavors I have been able to influence and invigorate our organization to think and become more like our vision...it's been a lot of fun see amazing connections made in our communities.
