About Mike Asplin

After few formative years working for BP Oil international and BP Finance, I spent most of my working life at NW/RBS in derivative trading. During that time I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work in Tokyo for 4.5 years, being responsible for all of the banks positions during Asian hours. After 9 very productive years working on the FX options desk, I was asked to set up RBS Equity Derivatives desk taking responsibility for trading and risk management. In both of these roles I was critically involved in the design and prioritisation of our in-house proprietary trading platform, as well as taking key risk management decisions.
