Michael Rayer graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993 where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Rayer is a four-time Division I swimmer and competed in the Olympic trials. He completed his graduate education at the University of Connecticut Medical School and Newington Children’s Hospital. Rayer is a skilled prosthetist with a unique specialty applying his automation and mechanical engineering background to research and development of prosthetics. He is committed to improving current prosthetic designs and refining industry techniques. Mike pioneers Team PROLIMB, a program dedicated to supporting amputees’ desire to resume their pre-injury activity level. Throughout the year, TEAM PROLIMB members compete in rigorous activities, including rock climbing, skiing and triathlons.
