As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), I served as a member of the executive management team responsible for all Finance and Accounting operations including but not limited to Real Estate, Treasury, Property & Income Tax, Auditing, and IT.Selected Achievements:• Served as Financial member of inventory consolidation team & consolidated inventory and purchasing from two systems. Resulted in $150,000 in savings and increased inventory accuracy.• Worked with financial institution on loan extension, reducing bank loan by using loans on life insurance policies.• Restructured accounting department, eliminated unnecessary task, mentored and promoted Assistant Controller to Controller.

As a Consultant, I led startup/turnaround assignment for former employer (see below); due to high turnover during startup stage at new manufacturing facility, in Suzhou, China.Selected Achievements:• Retrained materials, production and warehouse staff in the areas of inventory/work order flow.• Worked with accounting staff, to clean up A/R, A/P, inventory (including a physical inventory and setting up a cycle count program), general ledger account reconciliation and preparing for the month end financial presentations.

Selected Achievements:• Upgraded the corporate accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal control procedures (pursuant to Sarbanes Oxley Act) and cash management systems, and restored credibility with internal and external customers.• Introduced internal training and cross-training programs, redesigned core processes.• Redesigned Standard Costing system.• Designed systems, policies, and procedures to regain control of Accounts Receivable. Reduced day’s sales outstanding by 20%.• Centralized accounting functions from branch locations, resulting in $75,000 in annual cost savings and tighter internal control.• Selected new health care insurance provider resulting in $250,000 in annual cost savings.• Led a critical turnaround of the Mexican operation. Supervised design and installation of LAN and the installation and programming of telecommunications systems.• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of costing systems (standard and job costing).• Designed and implemented scrap reporting system resulting in more accurate costing of product and 25% drop in scrap. Doubled scrap revenue by competitive bidding.• Led contract negotiations-- purchase and shipment of machinery from domestic and overseas vendors, land purchases (property tax, zoning, legal and environmental issues), building additions and renovations (from construction bids, architectural design, safety issues through project sign off), and contract services.• Selected and negotiated new health insurance plan with improved coverage and a 15% reduction in cost.• Negotiated a 10% reduction in Property Taxes through revaluation of building.• Participated as Steering Committee Member in designing and implementing Employee and Management Development Programs aimed at maintaining union-free status, improving morale, technical skills and productivity.
