About Mike Baca
Mike Baca started his radio career in 1992 as an intern at KPAY. He graduated from Chico State in 1994 with a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Media Arts. He has held radio jobs in many different markets including Ukiah, Sacramento and Phoenix. Mike returned to Chico in January of 1997, where he has served as a news reporter and sports director for both KPAY and ESPN Radio. Mike’s experience in broadcasting is extensive and varied; from live-on-the-scene news reporting to anchoring and being the voice of sports, he does it all. Mike is entering his 27th year of being the voice of the Chico State Wildcat basketball and baseball teams. He has been fortunate enough to call two Wildcat baseball National Championships in 1997 and 1999. He called the Chico State men's basketball teams amazing journeys to the Elite Eight in March of 2014, 2017 and 2022. Also, the Chico State women's basketball Final Four appearance in 2006. Both at the Division II level. Mike is currently a member of the IBWAA-Internet Baseball Writers Association of America. Mike currently spends much of his time blogging on his personal website at BitoBaca.com. He blogs on everything from his journeys covering the Chico State Wildcats to his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers.
