I have practiced employment and labor law for almost 25 years. During that time I defended employers in investigations and in cases in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative tribunals involving just about every type of statutory claim on the books, as well as common law claims. A large part of my practice is devoted to keeping employers out of trouble. I help employers manage risk and maintain compliance. I also serve as a daily resource to employers providing counsel and advice on personnel management and employment law issues.As a natural complement to my employment law practice, I also focus on protecting employers from unfair competition and theft of trade secrets and confidential information, and breaches of fiduciary duties by employees, officers and directors. Dealing with these insider threats expanded my practice into data security and privacy issues. I help clients conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of their computer and information systems, and prepare and develop information security and privacy policies and procedures. When the inevitable breakdown in security occurs, I help clients respond to data breaches.
