Hello there. I'm Mike, I'm a software developer well versed in C# with an unending, fiery desire to solve problems with creative and outside the box solutions.I grew up playing baseball on one hand and geekin' out with various things on the other, like saving up money to build my own computer in high school and installing Lubuntu on a little underpowered netbook I had. I first realized I was interested in programming in high school while taking a Java CS class and creating little console programs that would infinite loop and play a variety of Windows sounds on other people's machines. And then I realized that I wanted to do it professionally when I found myself looking at the clock on a Saturday afternoon in college and realizing 6 hours had just gone by while I was figuring out how to code some Mario game in Corona.I've had some experience with a variety of different languages but I've really dug into C# and had a lot of fun doing it. In my current role, one of the main things I've been tasked with doing is converting existing .NET Framework services to .NET Core, containerizing them, and deploying them into Kubernetes clusters. In this pursuit I have been exposed to a bunch of different technologies and I've set up CI Build and Release pipelines in Azure DevOps, created Nuget packages and distributed them to our containers using Azure Artifacts, and set up internal API endpoints using Kestrel so that the containers can communicate with each other. One of the projects I've really enjoyed is creating a listening, parsing, querying, and request submittal system for NAESB ETagging that has allowed me to utilize all aspects of Azure Storage and coordinate a lot of that processing across different clusters.Overall I'm a voracious problem solver, I came into my current position with zero knowledge of Docker, Azure DevOps, or .NET Core and within the past year I've taught myself and been tasked with leading the effort at Adapt2 towards containerization. I have great communication skills, I know how to lead and to follow, and I can work with absolutely anyone. I'm a hard worker as well but honestly it doesn't really feel like work when you love what you do!So yeah, that's me.
