About Mike Brown
📗 𝗧𝗟𝗗𝗥: Mike has 10 years of executive leadership experience, 13 years of management experience, 17 years of developing full-stack applications and architectures, and a track record of taking ideas from inception to enterprise-scale.🚀 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗Mike started developing medical software at ABELSoft, specifically electronic medical records, identifying drug interactions, charting, and processing DICOM images. Then, in 2009, he moved to Bluesun (a FinTech, InsurTech, and consulting firm), where he repeatedly turned ideas into systems, operationalized them, and took them to enterprise-scale (11 greenfield systems and 3 legacy modernization projects in total). As an early employee, he built teams, defined processes, and helped scale the entire organization, which resulted in a successful exit in March 2019.In 2015, the owners of Bluesun created a spin-off RegTech company (Swyvyl) to develop an industry-wide compliance and regulatory platform with the cooperation of the 9 largest insurance companies in Canada. Over the next 3 years, Mike functioned as the CTO and unified the 9 insurance companies that governed the system's functions and operation; he designed the system and architecture, built the foundational technologies, and scaled up the team to implement the complete system. In 2018, the platform was white-labeled as APEXA and launched to every insurance company and advisor across Canada, ending with a successful exit in February 2019.In 2019, Mike transferred to iPipeline with the Bluesun acquisition, where he moved out of the Canadian operation and into the Global R&D group. There, he worked on the core platforms and technologies that underpin all of iPipeline's products and focused on generating leverage that would multiply the efforts of everyone at the organization. As a result, his responsibilities increased dramatically, culminating with the management of 5 products and running a cross-functional, globally distributed team of 60.🛠️ 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦Mike has professional experience with 23 languages, 7 SPA frameworks, 10 databases, 2 clouds, and more.
