Quality & Environmental Systems And Customer Quality ManagerSilicon Labs Nov 2002 - Sep 2015Austin, Tx, UsI was originally hired as a Customer Quality and Quality Systems Manager with no direct reports, but shortly assigned a team of six engineers as a result of my initial success. My role was to improve the quality and environmental systems that served customers. I also served as quality account manager for key customer Huawei, traveling regularly to China. During my tenure, I assumed increasing levels of responsibility each year (with infrequent increase in headcount). In 2013, I was asked to join HR to improve their processes and bring an engineering perspective. My successes have included devising a creative solution to a seemingly insurmountable obstacle in the pursuit of ISO/TS16949 registration, thus allowing the company to enter the multibillion-dollar automotive semiconductor market. I also implemented an environmental system from the ground up, achieving ISO14000 certification within just 12 months. During my tenure, the company earned numerous supplier certifications and quality/environmental/safety awards including Delphi Zero Defects award, Samsung Eco-Partner award, and Sony & Huawei Green Partner awards.In my most recent assignment, the HR team requested my expertise where I applied my process-driven approach to evaluating and procuring a new HR Information System with the new system already improving efficiency and saving costs. I implemented a new Green card process that saves over $200,000 annually and changed the immigration outside counsel to save another $50k annually and modernize the process. I also created processes for policy review, termination, employee communication, customer satisfaction surveying, College Grad mentoring and development, internal transfers, and personality assessment (with intent to improve team building). -

Production ManagerMotorola Sps 1997 - 1998Austin, Texas, UsI was initially promoted to manage the return, testing, repair and resale of controllers and other electronics modules, but within 4 months, I was promoted to also manage the Chrysler CTM module production line with a challenge to return performance to prior levels. My team totaled 145 employees.I quickly implemented changes to the management of the Chrysler CTM line, including strong leadership, clear goal-setting and a ”do whatever it takes” mindset. As a result, we increased the on-time delivery rate from 90% to 100%, avoiding huge automotive plant penalties. In this role, I also led the creation and implementation of a new returns database, allowing a 50% improvement in return, test, remanufacture, and reshipment of warranty modules.
