I’m the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Over my thirty-year career, I’ve had a number of positions in Minnesota state government, including non-partisan legislative counsel to both bodies of the Minnesota Legislature, policy positions with the Minnesota Department of Commerce and the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, and senior policy advisor for energy and the environment to former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. Following my initial round of state service, I worked for the Clean Grid Alliance, Xcel Energy, the Center for Energy and Environment, the Minnesota Rural Electric Association and ALLETE before re-joining the Commission in August 2024. I have a JD, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a Master of Public Policy from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. I also serve as a Board Member at Conservation Minnesota.
