But in reality, leadership requires a set of skills so extensive and disparate that it’s impossible to be naturally good at them all.This fact is particularly visible in technical industries. Our leaders tend to be either:▪️ 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: who organise and motivate like pros, but feel left behind overseeing complex processes or making technical decisions.▪️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀: who know the subject matter inside out — but were never taught core leadership skills like organising and motivating.When I started as a leader, I had engineering skills, natural planning skills and … not much else.
